Ashe '68 nominated for an Emmy!
Last summer, Silver City Studios was honored to have the opportunity to do spatial sound design for Custom Reality Services’ immersive VR film “Ashe ‘68.” The film follows Arthur Ashe – the first black man to compete in the U.S. Open finals – on his journey of athleticism and activism in one of the most tumultuous years of civil-rights-era America.
Not only did the film premiere at the 2018 US Open and play at the 2019 Sundance and Tribeca film festivals, but it has now been nominated for an Emmy by The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) 40th Annual Sports Emmy® Awards. The eight-minute documentary short is featured in the Outstanding Digital Innovation category.
